empty

TODAY IS WEDNESDAY. TWO DAYS BEFORE VACATION AND I AM ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY. I PRAY TO SEE GOD'S MAJESTY IN THE COLORADO ROCKIES. I PRAY TO BE SO FILLED UP AND BLESSED WITH HIS GLORY.

I THINK TODAY WAS THE DAY THAT ALMOST BROKE THE CAMELS BACK--LITERALLY, AND I WAS THAT CAMEL. YOU KNOW, COME TO THINK OF IT, I AM LIKE ONE OF THOSE TWO-HUMPED CAMELS AND THOSE HUMPS ARE FULL OF BURDENS/WEIGHTS I AM CARRYING AROUND. UGH . . . I AM TIRED OF CARRYING THEM. THEY HAVE COMPLETELY DRAINED ANY LIFE GIVING WATER INSIDE ME RIGHT NOW.

I CANNOT MAKE ANY LIFE-CHANGING DECISIONS IN THE MENTAL STATE I'M IN; HOWEVER, I AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING REDUCING WORK SCHEDULE QUITE A BIT. I REALLY WANT TO LIVE WAY BELOW MY MEANS--TO NOT WORRY ABOUT EVERY PENNY EARNED AND DOLLAR SPENT.

TRULY - I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT GOING ON VACATION--IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF WORK AND I'D RATHER JUST STAY HOME.

OH GOD - PLEASE FILL ME UP - I AM EMPTY.

Friday, February 1, 2008

Today is Friday, February 1, 2008. WOW! The first month of 2008 is gone & done with. I am working more than usual during the infamous 'tax season'. I do enjoy being busy (makes time go by faster) but I miss terribly my little sweeties. I just love not having any plans of the evening and just picking the girls up (Ellen from school & Erin/Emily from daycare) and going home for snacks, homework, re-grouping, etc... Emily is such a big 3 year old. I kid you not - she is awesome at putting puzzles together. Grandma Shari really spends time w/ the girls doing that which is so neat.

We have been spoiled with Ryan not traveling much at all as of late. However, next week that will abruptly change and I think he's out almost every week until the 1st of May - ugh!!!

My mom is still in a 'waiting phase' of any further diagnosis regarding a mass of sorts they see on her lungs. I am not anxious. I am trying to be most hopeful. I am sure of God's hand in it all.

I feel so blessed to have grown spiritually in the Lord this past year. I credit much of that to our group bible study as well as the teaching I've recieved from Beth Moore's studies as well as (and most importantly) for God opening the eyes of my heart & granting me wisdom which comes only from Him! Thank you Jesus!!

God, I am most blessed. Please help me to be a blessing. I want others to see Christ in me. I want You to use me to make someone's life better because they know me, because they talked with me, because they saw me.

Okay - sweet Emily is 'reading' books to me and it is 'bary, bary rood' if you talk while she's reading. How sweet!
love,

Joseph Resemblance

Oh, this is sooo cool. But, let me just say it was a VERY crappy Saturday. I worked and unexpectingly was welcomed by a cool & reprimanding letter on my desk from my boss. Let me back up to say that the night before my old basketball coach (Oliver) called and said they were playing in Hillsboro for 1st. We decided to go and watch and I was very excited. Let me preface all of this with the fact that I truly think I love (d) my coach. He was just someone I always wanted to please and work hard for. I loved my basketball career in Highschool because of him and he always will have a special place in my heart. So, like usually happens, I was anticipating seeing him and his family, but I seem to go one step further always and just reminisce alot. Then I get all emotional and wander 'what if' and so on... SO, I really prayed to God and asked for my thoughts to be obedient unto Christ (1 Cor. 10:5).
Well, Saturday morning comes and let me tell you my thoughts were blindsided and taken aback and overwhelmed with what I had read on that note. So, I truly believe that just as Joesph's brothers meant him harm, God meant it for good and my thoughts remained re-focused and pure. So, I believe God was answering my prayer (just not the way I had ever imagined or wanted). Thank you Lord Jesus for being Lord of my life. I pray for your protection, for your guidance for your Lordship in my life. May I forever be a blessing to my family and to all who come to know me or know about me. WOW! That was really an aha God moment for me.
b/t/w - Ryan & I had a great time at the ball game and visiting with Coach Oliver. Ryan also ran into one of his former baseball coaches at Barton County. What blessings God allowed us to have I believe because we were obedient to Him. Ryan & I also recognized and acknowledged God for the people He put into our lives without our realizing (until years later) and without our asking. Oh dear God, thank you for giving us what we needed the most. Please continue to bless us when we are ignorant of what those blessings should be.
Amen!

My Sis

Taking a quick break from work, I wanted to report on my visit this past Thursday, 1/10/08. Kim (Goering) Cutting came over in the afternoon to advise me on some interior decorating ideas (she gave me some great feedback) and we visited before and after. She is my sister's age and they were good friends in school.
So, here we are sitting drinking a cup of coffee . . . talking about her 2 little boys, her stay in Grand Junction, her plans for future, her sisters (she has 2) and just girl talk! Oh - how wonderful it was!!! Here was a glimpse into Janelle through the life of one of her friends. Just looking at her and watching her was a reminder of Janelle since they were friends. We hugged upon arrival and departing and, for me, it was like maybe this is what hugging Janelle would be like now. We talked about her labor & deliveries, church, running, so many different things friends would share. Her mom died of cancer a few years ago--so we both have death as a common thread (albeit one we would have gladly unraveled if we could).

Anyway, I just wanted to concretely express how great it was to have those few hours to just look at Kim and remember Janelle - it was wonderful!

update

Okay - nothing too exciting today. I ran w/ Doug this morning 4 miles--we're just starting to get back on track for the April 1/2 K in Oklahoma City. I'm so thankful God allows me the priviliege of running. I do not take for granted the health He has allowed me & my family to have (thank you LORD).
Tonight Wed. evenings start up at church. Although I'm sure it will be fun once we get there--right now, I'm thinking I am VERY tired.
Last night, Simon Russell from BUK came over for supper. What a fun guy! He is not married (but getting married) and has a new 3 month old baby--Samuel Bruce Russell. What a nice, stately name. The Bruce is after "The Boss" as Simon is a HUGE Sringsteen fan. We had a 'lovely' time visiting and getting to know him better. He is a very free spirit and is the type that can just take off and go somewhere. I hope our girls have some of that--the freedom to not be so dictated by schedules & plans they forego seeing God's creation & His people all over the world.

If (and God-willing when) we are able to travel when the girls are older, I pray Ryan & I can see all parts of the world. I would love to visit so many places by just going there and immersing ourselves in the culture. I pray my girls are able to experience different parts of the world like that.
Anyway . . . one has to have a dream, a goal, a hope if you will.

update

Okay - quickly--my computer at home is null & void (painting our bedroom and all is unplugged currently). I just received the nicest phone call from a payroll client thanking me for doing a good job--what a sweetie. It's amazing how a true compliment can brighten one's day.

I call to mind, "beauty is fading and charm is decietful, but a woman who fears the Lord--she is to be praised." God, help me to be that type of woman--one who humbles herself before your throne of grace often and stands in awe of the Mighty Power of her God! Praise be to you!!!

title

Remind me to explain my blog title. Although i firmly believe we should not 'live' in the past. My past has times I always want to remember. Makdaddy was a nickname a coworker/girlfriend gave to me (mak were my initials prior to marriage) and it just stuck. Funny, but I can't remember her nickname at the moment.

I like the way Makdaddy sounds. I love the way it reminds me of old times that were so good! I cherish those memories. So, without being hypocritical, i choose this name to remember, but not live in--make sense? does to me.

okay, later.

January 5, 2008

Um, there are not very many font choices, are there? Okay, I'm going to attempt an on-line journal as my Word document (begun June 13, 2004) is rather large now. Today was my first Saturday for the 2008 Tax Season - oh joy!

My sweet little girls are bathed & fed and 2 are with Ryan watching football - how exciting:) Ellen's asleep in my bed and I think soon I will join her.

Tomorrow morn I'm running with Doug and excited to get back on track for a 1/2 marathon in April. I wish so much Ryan would have an interest to do this with me . . . Maybe when he turns 40?

Erin is trying to give me a quarter of hers as I type this; I'm taking it so she will let me continue typing - ha! Okay, I need to get some God Words into my mind, so off to my Beth Moore study--the Patriarchs beside my darling little girl.
